The Estate lies in the Usk Valley and extends above the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal into the Brecon Beacons National Park.  The land varies from Usk alluvial plains to uplands and thus supports a diverse range of farming activities. You will see arable, dairy, beef and sheep enterprises, some of which are organic. We encourage farm practices which promote conservation and good soil management.

The Estate has one of the oldest flocks of Black Welsh Mountain sheep which dates back to c1840 when Lady Llanover brought stock. Breeding stock is occasionally available for sale.

In 2015, the Llanover flock of Zwartbles was established.  The breed originate from The Netherlands and were introduced into Britain in 1986.  They are tall, elegant sheep with an uninterrupted white blaze from poll to chin with white socks on their legs.

The ewes make fantastic breeding ewes with a reputation for growth rates and carcasses size.

Breeding stock from both the Black Welsh Mountains and Zwartbles are occasionally available for sale.
